That's what she said, and I agreed, and we had an understanding.
But even Monday afternoon, when she was too uncomfortable to look at me, I could not help noticing that she has the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen.
I gave up caring, though, because neither of us wanted it to happen in the first place. We were sailing on a few Irish car bombs, a game of pool, and the thrill of getting away in secret. Exactly one week ago, on the hour. A little fun that got out of hand.
Now she teases me again, and floats into class late without so much as a piece of paper, and we're acting like nothing ever happened, and I wonder whether our professor saw us talking in her car.
Prof can't get us in trouble, anyway. All we've got going on is regret and a few good inside jokes.
We're just friends, like we should be.
I am hoping she will notice my new perfume.
