I bought a nice little house in an old quiet neighborhood with many elderly residents and who didn't know I would end up right next door to an ignorant stupid woman with a now 18 year old son who is in a rock band. The last 4 years I have had to endure the drums, guitars and screaming (bad, really bad) singer at all hours of the day and night. They have no central air so the windows are always open and they are about 15 ft from my bedrooms. I had my 80 year old father living with me and he had to move into an apartment. I can't hear my TV or talk on the phone. I can't use my front or back porch in the warm weather. I have talked to her and wrote a letter to her to no avail. I have called the police on several occasions only to be treated like the bad guy myself. I had a new $350 tree in my fenced back yard and someone ( I wonder who) sprayed it and killed it. I will no doubt soon be accused of neighbor rage because I am at my wits end. If I could, I would blow up her whole house. None of the other parents of the annoying band members will let them practice at their home as it is too noisy for there neighborhoods. Any chance I get a revenge I will take. The other people in my neighborhood bitch to me about the noise but, they will not say anything to her or the kid. Any ideas out there?

If you're in for a little Breaking and Entering, sneak over one night, or when no one is home, and do a little sabotage on the equipment. Wire cutters on the strings of the guitars, or maybe a carpet knife... if you want to get really daring, replace a fuse for the room where they practice for one that's rated much lower, say a 10 amp in place of a 30 ... and everytime the turn on their amps, the breaker will trip.

DON"T DO THAT tell them you would want them to lower the noise level. It's that easy, man.

Research places in your area that scouts for new talent, or look up recording studios, etc. Call them up posing as some famous DJ or talent scout, tell them you are really impressed with their music. Tell them how cutting edge they are, how they could be the next Nirvana or Rage Against The Machine, whatever sound they try to imitate, and get them all worked up.Make an appointment with them for one of those places mentioned above, they'll have their hopes up sky high, show up there, no appointment, get turned away, and when they go home crying in their guitars maybe they'll electrocute themselves Heh heh heh. Of course this takes some research work on your part, like getting names and addresses of people in the music biz, but you should be able to do that relatively easily. Good luck!

Its real simple. Since your cops won't help get yourself a video tape recorder. You can always buy one, use it a few days, then return it (check the store return policy).
Check your city's noise code; usually it's lest restrictive until 11:00 pm. Make sure the time/date is correctly set and when the music starts roll the tape.
Next step is the local PA. You have the evidance so he should do his job. Actually before that you may schedule a meeting with the chief of police and if they still refuse to take action you mention that to the PA too.
If all fails, go to the court and file your own complaint.

Reply 121 is on to it. Go a step further, and rent a noise level meter.
Have that framed in the video as well.
Since the neighborhood isn't happy, get a petition going. Copy 1 to the noisemakers, one for you, & the original to the police chief.
Do you have City Council meetings that you could bring this to?
