I am in my 20s but haven't watched TV in two years. There is NOTHING funny and quality anymore. I'm sick of these "reality" shows. Does anyone think for one second they aren't fixed?? Does anyone really CARE who these attention-craving losers try to hook up with?

Then there are all the sitcoms that are SO UNfunny, yet they play the laugh-track every three seconds, and make Americans look like a bunch of brainless monkeys. For example, "That 70s Show" has to be the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen.

I am SO GLAD Jenny Jones got cancelled! About 10 years too late, but still.

You are so right. Those every few second laughing tapes are the most annoying. Since Alley and Melrose Place went off I stick to the commercial free movie channels, O and have you ever watched Jag?

You seem to know an awful lot about what's on TV for not having watched it for two years. I think you're full of shit - you're probably one of those people who watch 18-20 hours of TV a day because you don't have a life. Get one and quit bitching about something as unimportant at television.

If you're bored, then you're boring! There is great tv on: The West Wing, the Sopranos, CSI.

One doesn't have to watch TV to actually know what's going on. You can read a lot- newspapers and magazines, and commercials for shows are advertised on radio also. What is it with rude people who write on the internet, poster #530, and make insulting remarks? You don't know that person. Who are YOU to say anything?

Why read about tv shows that you think are so stupid? Sounds like a real waste of time to me.

You're obviously an asshole too (Poster #532) - anyone with a life at all has more important issues than what's on TV. Did we get our feelings hurt when someone disagreed with your pansy-ass bullshit and voiced their opinion?

I think that he or she is correct;
Most Americans are brainless monkeys.
Take a look at your President as an example.

That doesn't mean that there aren't any quality television program being produced. I have a MA in communication and a doctorate in American Studies, so I've watched a lot of American TV in the last 7 years. There is a lot of dreck, but there are also gems. The key is to be picky. I live in England for 2 years and Australia for 4. They have a lot of junk tv, too. Maybe the problem isn't American culture, but Anglo-Saxon culture!

Did Caroline Not-Funny Raye get cancelled? I'm getting tired of how sickeningly sweet daytime talkshows has gotten. The audience goes crazy cheering when a movie star so much as farts. I have just started watching Ellen's new show and I think it's pretty good. She's just funny anyway, but I've noticed a lot of these shows are just Rosie rip-offs. Then I watch "The Family Feud" and some of the answers the contestants give are pretty stupid. How many times can you say "Twenty thousand dollars" in one show?
