I Hate My Neighbor
Neighbors - we all have them, whether they live a mile away or just on the other side of a paper-thin wall. So, they're your neighbors, and you have to try to be civil. Or do you?

Do you hate your neighbors? Tell the world about it. Ever "accidentally" cut down a neighbor's bush, or "accidentally" blow fallen leaves into their yard? Ever get a neighbor's mail by accident, and opened it? Ever spied on a neighbor? We want to know!

I can't even believe I have gotten to this point. My husband and I bought our first home in a cute neighborhood about 2 years ago. We have a little girl and a little boy. From the beginning, the woman who lives next door has been overbearing and nosey, to say the very least. She and her husband used to live down the street in an apartment upstairs from an old, convenience-type store. When she became pregnant, at the age of 40, with their first children, (twins---good God) the Father and Mother of the son offered them to move in with them. Well, it is six years later, and this woman has managed to get the deed put in her husband's name (house is paid for) and take over the entire house. She is constantly renovating ("Before the old folks die and can't pay..") and buying her kids every toy known to man...even though her husband works practically part-time and she stays home with the 6 year old kids. They have no money of their own, but since the house is paid for, they can buy whatever they want with the little they have. (This all leads somewhere-promise) Anyhow, this woman is VERY snobby and VERY sick in the head, neurotic and paranoid delusional. Why is she snobby? Who knows, she would not have a pot to pee in if it weren't for her in-laws, who she yells at most of the time. From the time I moved in, she was CONSTANTLY in our yard. EVERY time I stepped outside, THERE she was, giving me her "advice" on how to garden, how to be a mother, how to cook, how to be a wife, etc. WAY over the top stuff. I calmly listened as she told ME how I needed to get "help" because she was sure I was suffering from depression. She would say this all the time. As her situation has grown more "stressful" due to aging in-laws...no more live in babysitters, I guess, she has been calling me more and more names like "crazy", "sick" etc. etc. Really, I just kind of mind my own business and stay away from her. It has been difficult because my little girl loves her children. Unfortunately, we have had to attempt to put a stop to her playing with them, since their mom is such a freak. (We do not trust her around our children.) SO the other day, she comes over to invite our daughter to run in the sprinkler with her kids. Actually, this was a guise, as she NEVER comes over to invite our kids to do anything. She then physically pulled my husband out on the side porch, and started jabbering his ear off about how awful I am. My husband tried to defend me and explain it was SHE who was nuts...but she kept cutting him off, and abruptly left. (!?) So, I went over to speak with her to put an end to this crap. For the sake of the kids. Anyhow, I asked her what she was doing speaking to my husband about ME, and she flipped OUT! She started yelling that I was attacking her, not letting her back into her (fenced and gated so STAY THERE!) yard, and that she was calling the POLICE for harrassment! I was shocked, to say the very least. She kept saying, "You're sick, you have problems, you need help..." Over and over again as a reply to ANYTHING that I attempted to say. She ran around the yard, flapping her arms and yelling these things. And I need help? So, she has told just about anyone who will listen that I "attacked" her and that I am crazy and need help. I do not stick my nose into people's business, so most of these people do not know who I am, and may even be inclined to believe her. However, most people are as disgusted by her as I am, but since she lives with her in-laws, who carry clout around here, she gets her butt kissed anyhow. I feel sorry for my daughter. She doesn't understand why she cannot play with the girls, and why their nutty mothwer comes to get them whenever they are talking to her. (My daughter is 2 years younger than them.) This is all much more involved than what I have written here. MANY sick things have happened over the years. This is just the most bizarre. She has said she will call the police if I go on their property (WHY?) so I cannot even speak to her in-laws, who we were crazy about. But her girls have already come into our yard asking our daughter to play and generally annoying us. I don't know what to do. We cannot move, and I cannot live this way. I am afraid to even take my own kids outside to play. And a lot of other kids my daughter tries to play with say, "Gail told us your mommy was crazy." And stuff like that. What do I do? thanks!

I have finally found a place to vent about my a-hole neighbor. I live in an cramped apartment building and i have to endure my a-hole neighbors second hand smoke. What irritates me the most is that she is fully aware of my irritation of her disgusting habit and does it more. My question is: Is it illegal to beat the living sh*t out of her and leave her for dead somewhere in a canefield? I'm kidding =) I'm not that psyco. My question is what can i do legally or illegally to stop the insanity? Does anyone else have the same problem? What did you do? I don't think the smoke irritates me as much as her a-hole-ness. Why don't awful neighbors die horrible deaths? If anyone can give me advice (legal) i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much my fellow victims...

I live in a small town -- There are a group of 5 neighbors that are elderly -- Please God never let me be like this when I get older -- I work, have a career, do my best to think positive about people and embrace the day....Had one birthday party and yes we did get a bit noisy but it was 4 o'lock in the AFTERNOON -- lol -- evidently too close to her bed time -- I wish I would have done a survey for age stats before I bought into this place -- it's a darling condo floorplan though -- great location too. And I actually do have some privacy on my deck. however the HOA president and officers [best friends] are the most negative women -- I'm sure it's coming from somewhere in their past but I have to psyche myself to smile and say goodmorning -- I know if I mirror their obnoxious bossy behavior as they think they own this building -- it will just be what they want -- I'm hoping by killing them w/ kindness it will be more of an aggravant -- but boy do I want to get even for some of their lies and crappiness. I'm over having my feelings hurt. Anyway, anybody else have similar people problem> thanks in advance...

I just bought the home that I grew up in because my parents died and it needs a LOT of work. I work full time at night, I'm on call a lot, don't have much money right now, and I'm in school. I'm fixing things up as fast as I can, but my lawn mower went up last summer and I could not afford a new one. I borrowed my brother's mower, but that's hard because he lives in a different state. This summer I finally saved up enough money to get one, and I just put it together. In the meantime, this one old woman on my block won't leave me alone about it. She calls all hours of the day when I have asked her not to call after 12 unless it is an emergency because of my schedule, and she leaves these nasty messages about how the whole neighborhood just can't deal with me anymore and my yard is too messy and it looks horrible and they don't want me here, etc. She keeps threatening to call the county and have a citation placed against me (she did this last summer, it was very upsetting because I told her I was working something out but could not afford the citation)! I could get over a simple, "You really need to mow your grass" call, but they're getting wierd - calls with her rambling about how we're all going to get rats and it will be my fault (?), etc. She goes to all the neighbors on our end of the block complaining about me, has solicited lawn services to come to my house to talk to me (then called and left more harassing messages when I turn them away because I cannot afford them), etc. The worst part is, no one else is complaining, lots of other yards have grass as high as mine, I have talked to her about my situation, and SHE WATCHED ME PUTTING A LAWN MOWER TOGETHER RIGHT BEFORE SHE LEFT THE LAST MESSAGE!!!!! It got dark before I finished, so I didn't get back to it until today. I was so angry at the voice mail I chose not to cut my lawn, but called the county police and found out I can mow my grass at 6am, so from now on, even if I have to take vacation time every 2 weeks and leave work early, I will be out there at 6:00 on the dot, dragging her wrinkled old ass out of bed with the sound of my mower. Oh yeah, one week I had to go out of town for my job, so I didn't have any garbage to put out on garbage day (I wasn't home to make any). She left 6 messages on my voice mail that day about me "letting trash pile up" and the neighbors "weren't going to put up with it", then made it a point to call right in the middle of the afternoon every day before trash day after that to "remind" me to put my trash out. I can only think my parents must have made some enemies around here I didn't know about, but I thought I was doing something good here. I'll tell you, as soon as I can get the place fixed up a little and get out from under my contract with this mortgage company, I am SO out of here.

I hate my neighbors, they just moved in and our driving me crazy, the head of the house is an ex-con (wife beater) they have trash all over the yard, they don't mow (there yard is like 3 Feet tall. They put up christmas lights and it looked like shit. They have visitors all hours of the night. Plus this skank blamed me for shooting his cat and called the cops. I said fine give me the cat and I will take it to get patched up (I knew it wasn't shot) so I took it to the vet and they said it was in a fight with another animal. so I got it in writing from him, and sent the bill to the trailor trash, he nearly flipped out, if he had laid a finger on me I would have beat him with a bat. But since I'm not violent does anyone have suggestions on how I could get even?

I live in a close-house neighborhood with a lot of old folks.
What is up with these 70 to 80 year old women walking around in thin house coats with their tits hanging at thier knees? YUCH!!
The one ancient lady on the left side of my house has a big dining room window that faces mine. What does she like to wear? Nothing!I have to keep my shades closed just to get through my meals.

I don't actually hate my neighbors, just put some clothes on!

Last week, something really weird happened. I was giving my son a bath and I turned around and someone was looking at me through my bedroom window into my bathroom. I moved the blind to see who was there and it was my next door neighbors son. I live in an apartment and the lady next door to my is like 68 years old. The son had recently been staying there for a month and he was between 40-50 years old. Anyways I called 911, it scared the shit out of me and when the cops came and went next door to find the guy, his mother told them that I shouldn't of been stripping and that everyone always blaims her son for everything. She told them she didn't know where her son was and was very rude to the cops. The cops were hanging around outside to see if the guy would come back. I went out to have a cigarette, the mother came barging out of her door and said really cute, I hope you get cancer. She told another neighbor that she hoped he would fall off the balcony, he lives on the 2nd floor. Anyways they caught this motherfucker. He was hiding in his van in the parking area. The cop came back in to take my statement and I found out that this loser was on parole and that this was his 3rd offense for this among other crimes he has done. Anyway, they took him in and he is in prison now. The mother hasn't said shit since then. She probably felt protected to talk shit since the cops were here. If she says anything to me,even if it's an apology, i'm gonna go off on that bitch. I called the owned of this complex after the cops left that night. (the owner is buddy-buddy with that bitch next door) I told her what happened, the cops told me to do that and she said what do you want me to do, I explained to her that I just wanted to let her know what was going on and that that guy had prior offenses. She said well maybe he was drunk or something. That is no reason, as drunk as I have ever been, I have never done anything like that. She was sticking up for the guy, she said she had never worried about the guy, and he has done that shit in this complex before. She claimed that she knew he had been locked up but didn't know he had done that before. She called the mother that night and told her, if this happens again you will both be kicked out. That bitch is willing to let it happen again and that sets up the potential for someone to be raped or stalked. The guy has not impulse control, who knows what he is capable of. She is willing to jeopardize the safety of my family. I don't feel safe here. I don't know when this fucker is getting out and he knows where I live and I don't like living next door to his crazy bitch mother. Now, I have to move. Thanks asshole and bitch. I hate apartment living. This sucks.

Neighborhood houses are just too close together.
I live in a fairly nice neighborhood, and we have a fence around the back yard, but I sometimes wish we had a fence around the front yard, too.
I really hate going in the front, I sometimes don't want to see the other neighbors when I just want to get the paper, or wash the car, or look at my front yard!
What's even worse is one of my neighbors is especially creepy! He is semi-retired, and doesn't have enough to do so ends up spending too much time going around his front yard cutting down all of his trees and plants. For a while he was taking it out on his squirrels - he said they were hurting his roof, so he started killing them, leaving rat traps around his yard, and shooting them with a be be gun, some other neighbors got him to take up the rat traps, and for a while stop shooting them with his gun.
But this guy is too creepy, and it's as if he keeps his wife a prisoner - she doesn't drive, and he never takes her anywhere - except the doctor...they don't have any friends or family that visit...so it's extra creepy...I try not to think about it...I wish they would move like he said they would...he was going to paint his house and put it for sale, but he never seems to get to it...some people are just more than a little strange...
